The week is almost over already?!?

I'm sick. :( So I'm sitting here on the couch and since I've got the computer nearby, I thought I'd post some stuff on the blog. The girls are happy as clams playing 'house' in their rooms, so I've got a little bit of down time (yay!). Since I've got time, (let's face it, I'm not going to be getting up to do any cleaning or laundry or any such stuff) I figured I'd start with last week and play catch up...maybe over two posts since we had ourselves an awesome weekend this past weekend and that deserves a whole post on its own.
Kyleigh knitting a scarf for her doll while taking it easy.
So. Last week. It started out with a rest day on Tuesday since Kyleigh had gotten sick the night before. (We had our fingers crossed that the stomach bug wasn't making a come-back. It didn't.)

This is what happens when I've been stuck in the house for so many "sick days" - I get bored and start
getting goofy. Like trying to put bloomers on everyone's head while doing laundry. Yes. Even the dog.

First Soccer Game and a Lost Tooth!!

It's the middle of the week and I've actually got a chance to write a post. Yea, that usually isn't a good sign these days. :/ Kyleigh's last day of school before tracking out was Monday, and that was a busy day for Abby and me. Then Tuesday Abby was in school. While she was in school, Kyleigh and I had a coffee date with Nate. :)

Then we picked Abby up and headed to the Farmer's Market, came home, ate a snack, cleaned up the kitchen and then headed back out. This time we walked up to the grocery store to pick a few things up that I needed to to make some more food for my Mom and Dan.

Soccer Practices and Birthday Parties

It's officially springtime! Around here we are hoping that means warmer weather. Kyleigh's soccer season has started again and she's has practiced again for a few weeks now. Her first game is this Saturday the 13th.

- On April 7th, Abby had another birthday party to go to. :) This one was at the Museum of Life & Science. We were able to get there before the party and walk around together. We LOVE this place!!
You walk around the grid on the floor and see your movement on the wall screen.

Checking out the barnyard animals.

The girls' favorite place! The Butterfly House!

Checking out the insects first.

Sitting waiting for the butterflies to land on them.

Butterfly.

Looking to see which butterflies they've seen.

Butterfly!

Abby thought she'd double her chances of one landing on her. :)

Still waiting. :(

An Abby-Alpaca!

A Kyleigh-Alpaca too!

Then we watched the bears.

This guy was having lots of fun playing in the water. :)

After the party, we walked around in the building part.

Abby was excited to see the snakes. Eeew!

Trying out hand at making oragami butterflies. :)

- Then the next day (Monday) the stomach bug hit. And it hit hard. Here's Abby finally getting some sleep on Tuesday. :( Poor kid. Nate also got the bug. It wasn't a fun week at the Harned household.

The Other Half of March

My last post was March 19th, so what happened the rest of the month?

- On the 22nd, Jill came over with Ava to say hello for a bit. Abby brought some toys out of her room to play with Ava. After they had been here for a little bit, I got a call from Kyleigh's school saying she had a fever and needed to be picked up. :(

- On Saturday the 23rd, Abby had a friend's birthday party to go to. The party was at a nearby LifeTime Fitness. The kids had a lot of fun playing games and jumping in a bounce house.
Playing 'Red Light, Green Light'.

Playing 'Simon Says'.

What have we been up to? - Part 3

Okay, so I've hit the highlights (or at least picture highlights) for the months of January and February. Now I'm up to March, but since we aren't all the way through yet I figured I'd just cover the first half of the month.

So far in March:
- Kyleigh's class celebrated Dr. Seuss's birthday. :) In honor of that, Kyleigh wore her 'Thing 2' shirt. Turns out one of her friends wore their 'Thing 1' shirt. haha
Please ignore boxes...I was cleaning out closets. haha
- The girls and I went to Dunkin Donuts one Saturday morning after letting Boone out for Nate's parents.

What have we been up to? Part 2

In February:
- The girls and I made Gak while Kyleigh was tracked out. They really enjoyed watching how to make it and then playing with it. :)

Getting acquainted with the feel of the Gak.

What have we been up to? - Part 1

So I last posted about two months ago. Yikes, sorry about that. So what have we been up to??

In January:
- Abby was the top Tiger (her preschool class is called the 'tigers'; each class is associated with an animal) for the week and over the weekend got to bring home the class tiger! He had fun with Abby. :)
The girls having hot chocolate with Tiger.
We got a little snow, so Tiger helped Daddy get his car ready to leave.

Cheers to the New Year!

The start of a new year. Usually, at the start of each year, I am sad about having to start the whole year over again. See, I like the months from about September on and all the months prior are just spent getting to this point. It's odd, but this year I'm filled with excitement. Maybe this change of heart comes from being a mom. I know, I know. I've been a mom for 6 and a half years now. But I think this year is different because both girls are old enough to do more now than in past years, and they are truly enjoying it and Abby is now reaching the age where she remembers it. (The mind of kids younger than 3, or 4 even, have a hard time remembering things they've done in the past, like holidays and trips and such.) I feel so much hope and excitement about the first half of this year that I believe this is going to be a wonderful year!
