Easter 2012 -- Part1 Coloring Eggs

This year, Nate and I thought ahead. We boiled the eggs Friday night to color them Saturday. Most years we have to wait on coloring eggs on Saturday because we need to boil the eggs and then let them cool first....it's a little frustrating for the kids. :)

So this year, while the girls were down for 'quiet time', Nate and I got set up to color the eggs.

The girls were super excited to begin.....can you tell? ;)

Nate was happy too. :)
So with everything all set up, we were ready to get coloring!

A New Use for Glo-sticks!

I found this idea on Pinterest. You crack the glo-sticks, throw them in a full bathtub, then turn out the lights and have fun! The girls had a blast!!! Just see for yourself. :)
Fill up the bathtub.

Then add glo-stcks, kids and turn out the lights.

Nate's Birthday

While Nate was at work Thursday, the girls and I decorated the apartment to surprise him when he got home. The girls and I picked out Star Wars themed decorations from Party City. :)

New Toys!

The girls were excited to play with their new toys that Santa brought them. Abby got her first (and last!) motorcycle with a blue kitty helmet. Kyleigh received a Princess razor scooter with a purple kitty helmet. They had a whole lot of fun riding around the parking lot!

Summer On The Run

I feel like I need to re-introduce myself. :) haha Kyleigh just finished up her last year of preschool. She starts kindergarten in July -- I'm a little torn between being excited, and being seriously crestfallen. I didn't think the five years would pass by so quickly. I feel like once she walks into those doors, there is no turning back.

Anyway, I've decided to try and make something of this last summer before Kyleigh becomes an elementary school student. I thought it'd be fun to blog as we go.

Our first excursion was to the North Carolina Museum of Life and Science. The girls enjoyed this place so much that we are already planning a return trip -- with a few more family members coming along. :)

The second excursion was to the North Carolina Museum of Art. For this one, Nate made sure we waited til the weekend. The museum offers an activity tote appropriate for preschool-aged children to help them get into the exhibits. The tote did help Kyleigh enjoy the museum a little more, but I think the most fun we had was imitating the statues. :)

In between, we've hit the pool and spent time hanging out with my mom.

Not sure what is coming next. I have been looking into what is within "day trip" distance from where we live.
